So finally, after 4 years of being away, Mehvesh and I are finally together again in the US. Settling into Princeton and trying to enjoy the peace and lovely weather. But so far it seems that the setting is just a ruse to lure in unsespecting graduate students. Or maybe it's compensation. For the next few years, Mehvesh may have to work harder than she has ever before in her academic or professional life. I've figured out how to commute to Penn as painlessly as possible, so I just need to get my act together and start studying.
But the hardest thing is not having Faiz with us. Fortunately for him, he is blissfully ignorant.
Here are some pictures that were sent to us from Lahore.

Home Away
Arrived back in New York today. I am always surprised by how much it feels like coming home. For all the trouble we've been through in the past four years, it should be good riddance right? But no. Even though I came alone, again, and came against my heart, I found myself peeved by the fact that I can't come and go to New York as I please. It's too far, too expensive, too much of a hassle getting through immigration, etc.
